Street Fighter 6 Review: A Fighting Game Renaissance

Street Fighter 6 arrived in 2023 as the most ambitious entry in the series' history. Two years later, it is still the gold standard for competitive fighting games and has revived the genre in Kenya's competitive scene.

Drive System: The Core Innovation

The Drive System replaces V-System from SF5 and solves that game's fundamental problem. Every mechanic — Drive Rush, Drive Parry, Drive Reversal, Overdrive — feels purposeful and balanced. Beginners can play without engaging with it deeply; veterans use it as the core of their strategy.

World Tour Mode

An open-world single-player mode where you create a custom character and train under SF legends. It is a compelling way to learn the game through actual play rather than tutorials alone. Kenya Street Fighter players have found it an excellent way to bring friends into the game.

Online Play from Nairobi

Rollback netcode means matches against international players are playable from Nairobi. East African servers are not dedicated but Latin American, European, and Middle Eastern players connect with 100–150ms — workable for casual ranked play.

Rating: 9.5/10 — the best fighting game in 2025.
