Resident Evil 4 Remake Review: Survival Horror Done Right on PS5

The original Resident Evil 4 is one of the most influential games ever made. Remaking it was a risk. Capcom has pulled it off completely — Resident Evil 4 Remake is as good as the original and better in several respects.

What Is Different

The over-the-shoulder camera from RE Village replaces the original's fixed camera. Combat feels more modern without losing the tension. Leon's character is fleshed out — he is less of a quipping hero and more of a man navigating an impossible situation. Ashley's sections are reworked and are no longer the frustrating escort missions of the original.

Atmosphere and Sound Design

The Spanish village setting is more disturbing than ever in the remake. Enemy sounds, ambient audio, and the DualSense haptics on PS5 combine to create genuine tension during every encounter.

Kenya Value

At KSh 5,200 at GameStop Kenya — one of the best-priced titles in the library — RE4 Remake is an extraordinary deal. The 15-hour campaign rewards multiple playthroughs through unlockable weapons and challenge modes.

Rating: 9.5/10
