Nintendo Switch OLED vs Switch Lite: Which to Buy in Kenya?
Two great Nintendo consoles at very different price points. Here is which one to buy based on how you plan to game in Kenya.

Nintendo offers two current Switch models in Kenya: the Switch OLED at KSh 42,999 and the Switch Lite at KSh 28,999. The right choice depends entirely on how you plan to use it.
Nintendo Switch OLED — KSh 42,999
The OLED screen is genuinely better — brighter, more vivid, and better contrast than the original LCD. The dock connects to any TV via HDMI, giving you both handheld and TV gaming. The kickstand is more stable for tabletop gaming. Buy the OLED if you want the best handheld experience and TV gaming flexibility.
Nintendo Switch Lite — KSh 28,999
The Lite is handheld only — no TV output, no dock. Smaller and lighter. The lower price saves you KSh 14,000 which buys two games. Buy the Lite if you genuinely only play in handheld mode — commute gaming, bedroom gaming, travel. Do not buy it if you ever want to play on a TV.
Best Games for Either Model in Kenya
- EA FC 25 — football on the go
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe — timeless local multiplayer
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder — the best 2D platformer in years
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — 100+ hour open world adventure
Which to Buy?
If budget allows, the OLED is worth the extra KSh 14,000 for the superior screen and TV connectivity. If budget is the priority, the Lite is still a great gaming device for handheld-only use.
